It’s official! The beginning of September means the beginning of spring.
If, like us, you change up your grazing habits for the new season, it’s time to step away from the slow cooker and rediscover some spring delights.
To get you started we’ve put together some of our favourite food and wine pairings from the Two Tails kitchen.
Dust off the barbecue – With the longer days you’ll find it will soon be time to clean up the barbecue (if you even put it to bed for the winter). We love this Jamie Oliver recipe for Spring Lamb Kebabs, it exhibits all the characteristics of spring and will take you well into summer too. Mix and match the vegetables if you’d prefer not to use tomatoes, we’ve used courgettes. Create a simple green side salad of peppery leaves and serve with a delicious glass (or two) of Two Tails smooth bodied, easy drinking, Marlborough Pinot Noir. Buy yours HERE.
Get Musseled – No we’re not talking body building. For a deliciously lazy weekend lunch or light evening supper you can’t go wrong with some beautifully fresh local steamed mussels with garlic and lemon zest, served with a side of a citrus dressed, fresh green salad with feta and olive. (Here’s a recipe for the mussels). Don’t forget the wine… You couldn’t get a better match than a glass of Two Tails Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with its generous and juicy palate. Buy yours HERE.
Start talking Italian – We discovered this delicious recipe for an authentic Italian Spring Calamari Salad. There can be only one wine match for this gastronomic delight, and that of course is Two Tails easy drinking award winning Marlborough Pinot Gris, it’s food friendly, dry and delightfully drinkable.
